About Simon Mayo
A frequency deficiency in one ear scuppered young Simon’s dreams of being a radio studio manager – but studio management’s loss is the listening world’s gain. Honing his skills at Southlands Hospital Radio in West Sussex, Simon went on to work at BBC Radio Nottingham, before getting his first Breakfast Show in 1988 for Radio 1. Simon's illustrious career has spanned across multiple stations, but there’s more to the Sony Radio Award-winning Simon than a warm and witty broadcaster: he’s also the author of four novels (and supports Tottenham Hotspur - though you can’t have everything).
