A 44-year-old man has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a child in the Highlands.

The man was arrested yesterday after police were called out to Loch Ness Bay campsite in Drumnadrochit last month.

Officers were told a boy was approached within his tent during the early hours of July 31st.

The man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today.

Detective Superintendent Calum Smith said: "We would like to thank the local community for their support during our investigation, in particular local businesses and those who came forward with information."

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
