Tyler West and Molly Rainford’s amazing journey on Celebrity Race Across The World

Since meeting on the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing and getting to know each other more on the 2023 tour, KISS presenter Tyler West and EastEnders actress Molly Rainford have been madly in love, even going on to get engaged earlier this year!

For the last six weeks, fans have been able to see a more in-depth look at Tyler and Molly's adorable relationship, as the pair took part in the 2025 series of Celebrity Race Across The World.

Did Tyler and Molly win Race Across The World?

They didn't, but they came so close! After a tense foot race during the sixth and final episode on Thursday 11th December 2025, Tyler and Molly JUST missed out on the win, to Roman and Harley Moon Kemp.

It comes after Dylan Llewelyn and his mum Jackie dropped out of the race in the final leg, after their funds had depleted.

Anita Rani and her dad Balvinder were not far behind, coming in third place.

Who were they up against?

Tyler and Molly have been racing against Anita Rani and her dad Balvinder, Roman Kemp and his sister Harley Moon, and Dylan Llewelyn and his mum Jackie.

Tyler and Molly's journey on Race Across The World:

Episode 1 - Isla Mujeres to Flores, Petén

Along with the other couples, Tyler and Molly started their journey in Caribbean island Isla Mujeres, with the goal of travelling to the first checkpoint in Flores, a town in Guatemala’s northern Petén region.

The couple were celebrating their anniversary on the first day of their travels, but opted to avoid staying in the busy Cancun for an overnight bus, which took them 490km across Mexico. The next day, Tyler and Molly arrived at Campeche in southeast Mexico, one of the biggest chilli-producing regions, and they wasted no time in getting their hands dirty to earn a bit of money.

Deciding to not upgrade their accommodation and 'slum it' in a basic room, Tyler had to remove a bug from Molly's bed, before the pair settled down for the night, even having a lie in!

Molly and Tyler ended up arriving at the first checkpoint nearly 25 hours after leaders Anita and Balvinder, and just one hour behind Roman and Harley Moon.

After signing the book, Molly and Tyler admitted they didn't take the fastest route available, but they were proud to have been able to experience Mexico, with Molly saying they threw themselves into the deep end and out of their comfort zones.

Episode 2 - Guatemala to El Zonte, El Salvador

Kicking off the second leg nearly a whole day behind leaders Anita and Balvinder, Molly and Tyler decided to travel via Belize and Honduras, which turned out to be a great choice as they were able to avoid the civil unrest in Guatemala.

Whilst Anita and Balvinder and Roman and Harley Moon were put on lockdown and unable to travel due to road blockages and violence, Molly and Tyler were able to make up ground. After hitchhiking a ride to Hopkins Beach in Belize, the pair got a job at local restaurant called Ella's Cool Spot, which resulted in them making back some of their budget.

Despite still signing the book in third place at the second checkpoint, Molly and Tyler were just 18 minutes behind Roman and Harley Moon, and three hours and 53 minutes behind leaders Anita and Balvinder.

Episode 3 - El Zonte to Valle de Angeles, Honduras

At one point, after both Molly and Tyler caught a bout of food poisoning at the beginning of the week, it looked like the third leg might be a write-off for the pair.

However, with Molly feeling more human, she was able to take charge of the plans and look after Tyler, directing them to the stunning Lake Ilopango in El Salvador. After cleaning boats to make back some of their budget, the pair settled down for the night to recover further.

Later in the week, Molly and Tyler made it to the final checkpoint in Valle de Angeles, Honduras, opening the book to an empty page!

The pair got the third checkpoint just seven minutes before former leaders Anita and Balvinder, making them the new race leaders at the half-way stage.

Episode 4 - Valle de Angeles to Bocas del Toro, Panama

As race leaders from leg three, Tyler and Molly relaxed in the hotel as they waited the arrival of Roman and Harley Moon, and the pair arrived with some news...

Roman received a message from the crew which read: 'It is not possible to for the race to continue Nicaragua. Teams must fly to Liberia where the race will continue'.

Due to permission for filming not being granted in Nicaragua, the pairs flew to Liberia in Costa Rica, where the race resumed and they were told that Bocas del Toro in Panama was their fourth checkpoint.

Unlike the other three pairs, Molly and Tyler made the decision to take the coastal route, instead of going inland. After spending the night in Jacó, the pair travelled to Puerto Jiménez and spent the night in the jungle.

At the end of the episode, it was revealed that Molly and Tyler's gamble to travel down the coast didn't pay off, as all three of the other pairs signed the book ahead of them. The fourth episode ended with Molly and Tyler not yet arriving at the checkpoint.

Episode 5 - Bocas del Toro, Panama to Medellín, Colombia

After eventually arriving at the fourth checkpoint in Bocas del Toro, Panama, seven hours behind the rest of the pairs, Molly and Tyler set their sights on making up time.

All four pairs were told they'd have to travel through The Darién Gap, and due to safety reasons, they could only travel during light hours, with the only route being via sea.

With a huge gap to close, Molly and Tyler decided to get an 11-hour long overnight bus to Panama City, where they then paid a whopping $155 per person for a 4x4 transfer and boat journey.

The pair took in the sights of the stunning beaches, with Molly even fake proposing to Ty! Tyler even had time for a spot of fishing with one of the locals.

When they arrived in Capurganá, Columbia, all pairs were told they would be shuttled to the airport and would have to fly to Medellín. Molly and Tyler managed to make the flight, meaning it was a race between themselves and Roman and Harley Moon.

Despite starting the leg in last place, the pair somehow made up seven hours and signed the book first, meaning they go into the final leg as race leaders.

Episode 6 - Medellín, Colombia to Uribia, Columbia

After finding out Dylan and his mum Jackie had decided to pull out of the race at the final stage, Tyler and Molly were up against Roman and Harley Moon, and Anita and Balvinder in the final leg, with Roman and Harley just two hours behind them.

Throughout the entire final leg, the pair were neck and neck with Roman and Harley, with the pairs spotting each other at various stages towards the end.

As Tyler and Molly made their way to Uribia, one of Columbia's most remote regions, the pair once again took in the delights of the country, dancing with locals! After seeing her dance, Tyler gushed: "I fell in love with Molls watching her dance. I fell in love with her all over again."

After some fun, Tyler and Molly got back in race mode for one final push. After arriving at Uribia, the pairs were then told they needed to get a boat across the water to La Guajira. Although they got into their boats at the same time, Tyler and Molly experienced mechanical issues, giving Roman and Harley Moon a head start, leaving them very frustrated.

Once they arrived on La Guajira, Tyler and Molly were in a foot race with Roman and Harley, but after getting a head start due to the boat's problems, they were able to get to the top of the steep hill and sign the book just two minutes before Tyler and Molly.

How did they announce the news?

Molly joined Tyler on his KISS show on Thursday 18th September to announce the exciting news, and it sounds like they can't wait!

When asked why they wanted to do the show together, Molly said: "I think it was just a no brainer to do it together - we're so comfortable with each other, we already live together, so we know we can do that. We have nothing to hide from each other."

Tyler added: "We live busy lives. We're sometimes passing ships, I would love to experience this with my best friend, my person. I think I would struggle more doing it without Molly."

Speaking about why they've signed up, Molly said: "We haven't done any kind of travelling like this before. We always stick to our comfort zone, all inclusive, just one location. This will be a new experience."

Tyler added: "It feels like we've been together years and years but to do something like this would take our relationship to the next level and bring us closer together."

Dubbing themselves 'a powerful duo', it sounds like Molly and Tyler are in it to win it, with Molly saying: "Very competitive, me more than Tyler."

Tyler gushed: "I’m more of a team player. I mean, that’s sort of how our relationship started when you kicked me off Strictly Come Dancing. I’ve never lived it down."

When Molly said: "I'm excited to be on the same team for once", Tyler added: "I feel like it's a powerful duo that will be underestimated."
