Post Malone was on his way from New York to the UK, where he will be performing at Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend, but after taking off from Teterboro airport in New Jersey and experiencing two burst tyres, his pilot was forced to circle for HOURS to burn off fuel before making an emergency landing at New York Stewart International Airport.
Both fire and ambulance crews were on standby as the plane made its emergency landing, however it touched down safely and the 'rockstar' rapper later tweeted his fans saying,
'i landed guys. thank you for your prayers. can't believe how many people wished death on me on this website. f--k you. but not today'. sic
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also tweeted a statement confirming what had happened.
And NYC Aviation tweeted the flight path of the private jet, along with an example photo of what it looked like.
As many fans followed the plane's problems from the ground, some decided to turn up at the airport and cheered the rapper as him and his entourage landed safely.
Post Malone was in New York to perform at the MTV VMAs, where he also won the award for Song of the Year. After winning the award MTV caught up with him backstage, where he said he was having "the time of his life".
Post Malone recently broke a record previously held by Michael Jackson. The American rapper's debut album, 'Stoney' originally released back in 2016, has just spent its 78th week in the Top 10 of the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, a record previously held by the iconic album 'Thriller' by Michael Jackson, released back in 1983.
