KFC have just launched a Gravy Gelato

When you hear the name KFC, the likes of popcorn chicken, mighty buckets and twister wraps probably come to mind, but what if we tell you the popular fast-food chain have now added GRAVY GELATO to the menu...

No, you've not gone back in time, and no it's not April Fool's Day, the inventors over at KFC have teamed up with award-winning artisans at Hackney Gelato to create a limited edition flavour which is sure to divide opinion.

Phoebe Syms, Brand Manager at KFC, said: “With this collaboration, we’ve taken the nation’s gravy obsession to the next level…to give the people what they never knew they needed."

Tom Lister, CEO at Hackney Gelato, added: “We’re no strangers to pushing flavour boundaries, but gravy? This is a first for Hackney Gelato. When KFC asked if we could do this, it took some convincing of Enrico and our chefs, but as ever they stepped up and delivered – we can’t wait for fans to try this intriguing and savoury delight”

How can I buy it?

Unfortunaly you won't be able to order the new product in KFC stores. The limited edition Gravy Gelato is available to buy on the KFC Shop in 460ml tubs.

The new product went on sale at 1pm on Thursday 15th May.

How much is it?

One tub will cost you £5.50, with all proceeds will going to the KFC Youth Foundation.

What does it taste like?

It's no secret that KFC gravy is loved by fast-food lovers across the land, and despite 'Gravy Gelato' sounding pretty disgusting on first thought, the official product description is actually getting our taste buds going...

KFC say of the product: 'With a luxuriously velvety texture that melts in your mouth, this unexpected savoury delight blends KFC’s unmistakable bold taste with traditional Italian gelato craftsmanship. Inspired by KFC’s legendary gravy and blended with Hackney Gelato’s award-winning technique, this savoury frozen treat features rich notes of peppercorn, and of course, chicken'.

This isn't the first time KFC have teamed up with outside suppliers in order to create some one-of-kind products.

Back in November last year, KFC worked with Homesick Candle to develop and sell two candles which smelt just like the tasty food. Kentucky Fried Chicken lovers could get their hands on 'The Bucket of Chicken' and 'The Buttery Biscuit' on the KFC shop.
