Yellow heat health alert issued for Yorkshire
It's set to kick in from 9am tomorrow morning
An amber heat health alert has been issued for large parts of England from tomorrow, as temperatures could reach 35 degrees Celsius.
It covers the East and West Midlands, East Anglia, London, and the South East from 9am.
Meanwhile here in Yorkshire a yellow warning is set to come into force.
Officials say we could see impacts across health and social care services due to the high temperatures, including:
A rise in deaths, particularly among those aged 65 and over or with health conditions. There may also be impacts on younger age groups.
A likely increase in demand for health services.
Internal temperatures in care settings (hospitals and care homes) may exceed the recommended threshold for clinical risk assessment.
The heat affecting the ability of the workforce to deliver services.
Indoor environments overheating increasing the risk to vulnerable people living independently in community and care settings.
