West Yorkshire student officer handed community sentence for sexual offences

A West Yorkshire student police officer has been handed a community sentence after being convicted of inappropriately touching two women on a night out in Leeds.

24 year old PC Charlie Valente, based in at Learning and Organisational Development, was found guilty of three counts of sexual touching at Leeds Crown Court.

Two female victims reported being assaulted on a night out between November 4 and 5 2022.

Today (June 3) Valente was sentenced to a two year community order with 200 hours unpaid work, 90 day alcohol rehabilitation program and 20 day rehabilitation program.

He will also have to pay £8,000 in court costs.

Valente remains suspected by West Yorkshire Police pending misconduct proceedings.
