West Yorkshire Police officer due to go on trial charged with assault
The 39 year old is accused of common assault
A West Yorkshire Police officer is going on trial charged with assault.
39 year old PC Kenny Walton, who is based in the Wakefield district, is accused of one count of common assault in connection with an incident in Wakefield on June 16 2024.
He has previously entered a not guilty plea at Sheffield Magistrates Court - where the trial begins today.
He was removed from frontline policing after the allegation was made and is currently on restricted duties.
