Yorkshire will field the world's top two batters at Headingley on Friday, with Joe Root and Harry Brook making their first appearances of the county season.
The pair sat out the opening month of the campaign at the behest of the England and Wales Cricket Board but have been released to take on Warwickshire as part of their preparations for the one-off Test against Zimbabwe later this month.
Head coach Anthony McGrath revealed last week that he expected to have the duo available and has been able to name them in a squad including six senior England internationals.
Captain Jonny Bairstow also takes his place in a powerful middle order, with Dawid Malan, Adam Lyth and Dom Bess also involved.
Australian seamer Jordan Buckingham, fresh from a domestic double with South Australia, is also included for the first time in a four-match overseas stint.
Both Root and Brook, England's newly installed white-ball captain, will be named in the Test squad on Friday.
That means it is too late for others to push their selection claims but new faces are expected, with Essex seamer Sam Cook and Hampshire'sSonny Baker both in line to feature in a bowling attack thinned by injuries.
Durham's Ben McKinney could also cap a sharp rise to prominence by picking up the back-up batting role.
Captain Ben Stokes has been working back to fitness with Durham but will not play this week against Hampshire, instead building towards a training camp leading into the Zimbabwe clash at Trent Bridge.
