Police say there is no 'credible threat' after reports of 'malicious electronic communications' being sent to various Leeds schools.
Officers are taking 'relevant safety and security advice' and will visit the schools to provide reassurance.
A statement from Police said:
"We are aware of several reports of malicious electronic communications being sent to various schools in Leeds
"There is currently no intelligence to suggest that there is any credible threat in relation to the messages, but as a precaution, relevant safety and security advice is being provided to schools via local officers.
"Neighbourhood policing officers will also be conducting reassurance visits to affected schools.
"A malicious communications offence has been recorded and enquiries are ongoing by Leeds District CID regarding the source of the emails."
