Disruption across West Yorkshire as points failure stops trains
Services to Lancashire and Cumbria will also be affected
Trains between Leeds and Shipley are being cancelled after a points failure caused disruption on railways.
Pre-planned work on the tracks had already been causing delays for passengers travelling through the area, which has since been worsened by technical issues.
The problem was first reported on Sunday morning (September 22nd) and mainly affects Northern services.
As a result, all services between Leeds and Shipley have been cancelled until further notice; with knock-on delays to North Yorkshire areas including Skipton.
On top of this, services from Leeds to Morecambe, as well as Lancaster/Leeds to Carlisle will also be affected - due to these trains passing through Shipley.
Customers who are looking to travel during this time are being urged to pass through Bradford Interchange, before getting off and walking to the nearby Bradford Forster Square station to catch a replacement bus.
Tickets will also be accepted on Northern services via Preston, should the destination be Lancaster or Cumbria.
Officials from National Rail have expected that the disruption is set to last until at least 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
National Rail have urged travellers to check for the latest updates before travelling in case of last minute diversions.
