A date has finally been set for Leeds United's promotion parade - as the club celebrates its return to the Premier League.

Monday May 5th is the big day for Whites fans, with an open-topped bus parade planned through the city centre on the Bank Holiday.

The parade will follow a mile long route through the Headrow, City Square, Boar Lane, New Market Street, Wellington Street and Vicar Lane.

It will all kick off around 1pm, lasting for around an hour and a half.

Supporters are being encouraged to line as much of the route as possible, with no single 'coal point' for celebrations.

It'll be the first time since 1990 fans have been able to come together to celebrate Leeds United being promoted, with the pandemic preventing any festivities in 2020.

Morrie Eisenberg, chief operating officer at Leeds United, said: “We are thrilled to be able to celebrate our promotion to the Premier League with a parade across Leeds city centre.

“Sadly, due to restrictions when we were last promoted to the top-flight in 2020, it wasn’t possible for a bus parade to take place, so we’re now delighted to be able to celebrate this promotion properly with our supporters.

“On behalf of the club I would like to thank everybody who has helped pull the parade together behind the scenes and at local authority level, I’m sure next Monday will be a great occasion for the whole city.”
