Knottingley burglar jailed after being linked to scene by shoeprint

A Knottingley burglar who was caught looking under a victim's bed has been jailed for three years.
33 year old Lewis Roebuck, of Vale Head Mount, was arrested after breaking into a home on Vale Crescent.
He woke the victim up while searching a bedroom.
Roebuck ran out into a garden, having taken a wallet, phone and pocket watch.
He was later linked to the scene after police managed to find prints from his trainers.
He admitted burglary on the first fay of his trial and was handed a custodial sentence.
DC Ryan Johnson, of Wakefield District Crime Team, said:
“A person’s home is a place where they should feel safe and it must have been extremely distressing for the victim to wake in the middle of the night to find a stranger in his bedroom.
“We were able to quickly identify and forensically link Roebuck to this crime and I hope this positive action provides some reassurance to our communities.”
