Investigation underway after man found injured in Leeds
Police were called to Elland Road early this morning (12/12/24)
An investigation is underway after a man was found with serious injuries on Elland Road in Leeds this morning.
Police were called just before 5am - the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
A scene is in place on Old Road while officers work out what happened.
A Police statement said:
"Shortly before 4.45am this morning (12/12), police were called by the ambulance service to a report of an injured man found on Elland Road, Leeds.
"Emergency services attended and found a man in his forties with injuries to his back and face.
"The man was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
"Enquiries remain ongoing to establish what took place and how the man came to be injured. Initial enquiries suggest he was assaulted in the area of New Village Way.
"A police scene remains in place on Old Road and the road closures on Elland Road have been lifted."
