Man suffers "life-changing" injuries after being shot in Huddersfield
The incident is being treated as a "targeted attack" by West Yorkshire Police
A man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the arm and the foot in Huddersfield.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police were alerted to an incident taking place on Queens Road in the Edgerton area of the town at around 9:50pm on Friday night (March 21st).
When officers arrived at the scene, they found that a man suffered injuries to his arm and foot after being shot.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries - which are described as "life-changing" and currently remains in a stable condition.
The suspects are believed to have arrived onto Queens Road in dark "10 plate" car, believed to be either a Nissan Qashqai or a Nissan Juke.
According to enquiries, one of the suspects is believed to have gotten out of the vehicle and walked towards the victim before shooting at the man at close range.
The car is then believed to have driven off at high speed along the A629, with officers now launching an investigation into the incident, which is now being treated as a "targeted attack".
Speaking on the case, Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle from West Yorkshire Police said: "We realise that an incident of this nature will cause shock to the local community, and the wider Huddersfield area.
“A full investigation has been launched into this incident, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact us.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who saw the people carrier-type vehicle in the Edgerton area at around this time, or anyone who may have captured footage of this vehicle on their CCTV or dash cam.
“Patrols have been increased in the Queens Road area to provide reassurance to residents and anyone with concerns or information is asked to speak with our attending officers."
