A Huddersfield man has been handed a three year three month prison sentence for child sex offences he admitted to carrying out last summer.

40 year old Szymon Bildziuk of Barker Court, Birkby, admitted to two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.

He was sentenced to jail at Leeds Crown Court, while also being handed an eight year restraining order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

DS Olivia Connor, of West Yorkshire Police, said: "I would like to thank the victim and her family for their courage in coming forward to report the offending so we could investigate it.

“They have shown great strength and courage during the investigation and court process.

“Bildziuk is a dangerous offender and I am glad he has now been brought to justice for his despicable crimes. I hope the victim and her family can now start to move forward with their lives.

“We would always encourage any victims of unreported sexual offending, whether recent or not, to come forward and report it to us.

"We have specialist officers who will support you through the process, and we handle all reports with the utmost sensitivity. We will thoroughly investigate and work to bring those responsible to justice."
