A rescue operation is on going today in West Yorkshire for a dog who fell down a cliff in Halifax on Thursday.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service visited the site twice last week but said they were unable to help because the gap where Rose the terrier is stuck is too narrow. They say they can't drill into the rock on the land at Mixenden without damaging the entire structure.

Members of the community are working round the clock to free the dog. Volunteers have come from as far away as Scotland to help!

Food and water are being lowered down into the cave where Rose is.

A group of men are using a range of tools and cutting equipment to try to widen the gap to get her out.
