Woolworths owners deny shop will return in statement
A new Twitter account got people very excited on Tuesday, but it doesn't appear to be genuine.

It was claimed Woolworths was going to return to our High Streets next year, but it seems those claims were fake.
The former shop was trending on social media on Tuesday morning, after an announcement that physical stores would be returning in 2021.
The statement read, 'Here to save 2020! Woolworths is coming back to your high street, as a physical store! A couple of legal things to get sorted, but we’re full steam ahead at Woolworths HQ. We want to get this right, so we need your help. What do you want at your UK #YourWoolworths?'. (sic)
But the Twitter account, supposedly for a new 'Woolworths UK', quickly drew sceptics.
The website 'Very' owns the Woolworths brand in the UK now and released this statement:
"We own the Woolworths trademark in the UK. The Twitter account UKWoolworths is not connected to The Very Group."
Many agreed that this was a massive hoax, with the account not following any others and the website seemingly not working.
So far, the account hasn't been verified, despite claiming three trial stores could be on their way in 2021.
This supposed relaunch hasn't stopped a whole wave of nostalgia for the High Street chain, which went into administration in 2008 and closed all of its 807 UK shops.
Woolworths actually started trending again on Monday.
Genuine or not, this one Twitter account has certainly got people reminiscing about the days of Pick 'n' Mix, last minute Christmas shopping and aisles full of cassette tapes and toys.
