Man dies following collision involving a tractor near Tewkesbury

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol

A man has died following an incident whilst driving a tractor in Fiddington, near Tewkesbury last night (Saturday 9 August).

It is believed that a man who had been driving a tractor through fields collided with hedges and some stationary vehicles at around 11.25pm.

The passenger, a man aged in his 50s, sustained serious injuries in the collision and members of the public provided first aid at the scene, which was near Monks Lane.

Police officers attended and provided first aid prior to the arrival of paramedics. However, despite first responders efforts, the man was pronounced dead.

Police have said that his next of kin and the coroner are aware.

A man aged in his 20s, who is believed to have been driving the tractor, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol.

The Severn Vale Vintage Club annual show had taken place at the location yesterday (Saturday). Due to the incident, the organiser has said the event will be closed today (Sunday).
