Man appears in court following disturbance on flight to Glasgow
41-year-old Abhay Nayak was arrested on board the EasyJet service from London Luton on Sunday morning
A man has appeared in court following a disturbance on an EasyJet flight from London Luton to Glasgow, which was investigated by counter-terror police.
Abhay Nayak was arrested when the flight landed at around 8.20am on Sunday.
Appearing at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday the 41-year-old made no plea to a charge of assault and another of endangering the safety of an aircraft.
Nayak will appear in court again in eight days, and is being remanded in custody.
Counter-terror police initially assessed video footage but Nayak is not facing terrorism charges.
On Monday, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We believe the incident to be contained and that nobody else was involved."
