Metropolitan Police officers have charged a man with the murder of another man in the London borough of Croydon.

Rijkaard Siafa died after being stabbed during an altercation reported at 6:00p.m. last Friday evening (April 12th) at Fellmongers Yard in Croydon.

The force opened an investigation into his death and, following a number of lines of enquiry, were led them to 34-year-old David Walcott from Turle Road in Norbury.

Investigators looking into the case arrested Walcott in the early hours of Friday (April 19th) and after questioning the man, officers have now charged the man with Siafa's murder.

Rijkaard's family have been made aware of the update in the officer's investigation and continue to be looked after by specialist officers trained to provide physical and mental support.

Walcott will appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court later on Saturday (April 20th), soon after being charged earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, investigations into Rijkaard's death are ongoing, and officers remain keen to speak to those who may have any potential information.

Anyone who might have any information that could be relevant to the ongoing enquiries is being urged to get in contact with the force as soon as possible by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number CAD6022/12Apr.
