14-year-old girl dies following incident on railway tracks at Shildon
Police aren't treating the incident as suspicious
A 14-year-old girl has died after an incident involving a train in Shildon.
British Transport Police were alerted to a casualty on the tracks at around 8am on 22nd April.
Paramedics attended the scene and the girl was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
She sadly passed away on 2nd May.
Authorities have stated they are not treating the circumstances as suspicious.
The girl's family has chosen not to release her name and is asking for privacy as they process their loss.
Specially trained officers are providing support to the family.
