North East and Teesside pubs and bars ready for women's Euros final
England are playing Spain
Pubs and bars across the North East and Teesside are gearing up for the final of the women's Euros later.
Many are expecting their venues to be absolutely rammed.
Craig Wright, landlord of three pubs in and around Durham, said: "We have been showing the women's Euro and it's been a good response. I'd say it's been a better response in the city centre of Durham rather than in the village pub. The weather's obviously had a lot to do with it but it's been good and we'll look forward to the final and hope we can put some bums on seats.
"The city bar has had their best response over the last 2-3 weeks whilst we've been showing it but yeah, it certainly has been good. It's a shame it has to stop but we do have the Premier League that's due to start in the next 2-3 weeks. The sunshine has also driven trade.
"This year we've had a better summer than we've had in previous years. It's nice to see that some beer gardens across the city centre of Durham; we've got the city bar and also the village green in Billy Row. It's nice to see people out."
