A report was received this morning (Friday 27 September) that a car window had been smashed on Park Road South near Albert Park.

A number of items were stolen from the vehicle including 500mg of Pentobarbital. The medication is used to put animals to sleep and if taken by a human could potentially be fatal.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has been sold the drugs, may know of their whereabouts or has the stolen medication in their possession to contact police urgently on 101

The break-in is believed to have occurred at some time between 9pm on Thursday 26 September and 8.30am on Friday 27 September.

Information in relation to the medication or the theft from the vehicle should be reported to Cleveland Police on 101 quoting reference number 185808. Alternatively, police would encourage the drugs be handed to a police station or local pharmacy.
