Man ran over and attacked in Billingham
A man was hit by a car, before receiving multiple wounds
An investigation's underway after a man was hit by a car - and then attacked with a knife in Billingham.
It happened on Station Road at around 4.45 yesterday afternoon (11 April).
A 43-year-old man is believed to have been hit by a black vehicle.
He was then attacked with a knife, sustaining multiple slash wounds to his head.
Emergency services took the victim to James Cook University Hospital, where he is still receiving treatment.
He remains in a serious but not life threatening position.
Cleveland police are continuing their investigations to establish the full series of events.
