Appeal for information after an injured man is found in Hartlepool

It's believed that the 32-year-old was assaulted and left on York Road

Detectives in Hartlepool are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a report that a man had been assaulted in the early hours of yesterday (Saturday 4th May).

Police received a call just before 12:40am from ambulance service colleagues who said members of the public had found the man near the library on York Road and they believed his multiple facial and head injuries were due to an assault.

The 32-year-old man was taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital.

Enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who was in the York Road area late on Friday night (3rd May) into early yesterday morning (4th May) or who has any relevant doorbell/dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
