Sussex Police is asking the public for feedback to help improve its response to violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The force has launched its third VAWG Survey, which opened on Tuesday (18 November) and will run for five weeks.

This year’s survey has a particular focus on non-contact sexual offences, such as voyeurism and indecent exposure, which can be early indicators of more serious crimes. Alongside this, it will remain open on 25th November for White Ribbon Day, under the theme ‘We speak up,’ encouraging the public to challenge inappropriate behaviour and support the campaign against violence toward women.

Sussex Police continues its efforts to ensure women and girls feel safe in public, online, at work, and at home, while highlighting the need for more progress. Particular focus is given to increasing participation in the survey from young women aged 18–24, a group that has been less likely to engage in previous years.

To encourage younger participants, Sussex Police has collaborated with a local illustrator to create a series of female characters representing the community, bringing the survey to life and urging more women to share their views.

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey themselves and share it with colleagues, friends, and family to help Sussex Police build a clearer picture and strengthen its ability to protect women and girls.

The survey closes on 22 December.
