Eastbourne Borough FC has announced that its players will reimburse the cost of match tickets for all supporters who travelled to see their team lose 7-0 against Torquay United yesterday (21st November).

The club, which is currently second from bottom in the National League South, described the result as "unacceptable" and has taken steps to compensate fans for their travel expenses.

In a statement released on social media, the club said: "Following today's unacceptable result, #EBFC players will be reimbursing the cost of match tickets for all travelling supporters.

The club are already liaising with the Supporters Club for a list of supporters and further details will be distributed with them directly in due course."

The move to refund ticket costs is seen as an apology to fans who made the journey to support Eastbourne Borough in their away game at Torquay.

Further details about how to claim the refund will be shared with supporters through the club and its Supporters Club.

Eastbourne Borough currently stands near the bottom of the National League South table, with efforts ongoing to turn their season around.
