Police investigate death of man found unresponsive in Woking

Surrey Police were called to the Sheerwater area of the town at 4am

A man in his 40s has been died after being found unresponsive in Woking this morning.

The male died at the scene in the area of Albert Drive and Dartmouth Avenue in the Sheerwater area of the town at around 4am this morning.

Surrey Police say they don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances around the incident and enquries continue.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We appreciate that the large police presence in the area may have caused distress and concern amongst local residents, and we would like to reassure you that an investigation into the circumstances of the death is underway.”

Road closures remain in place in the area.

Due to previous police contact with the deceased man, a mandatory referral will be made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
