Teenager stabbed in Ipswich

Police say it follows an 'altercation' between a group of males in the town centre

A teenager's been stabbed in Ipswich.

Officers were called at approximately 11:58pm last night, (Saturday 21 September), following reports that a teenager had been stabbed in St Stephen’s Lane.

The attack is believed to have taken place after an altercation involving a group of males, one of whom is believed to have been carrying a knife.

The victim, a man aged in his late teens, sustained two puncture wounds to his leg.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance and is currently receiving treatment.

His condition is described as serious but is not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.

The suspects are described as wearing grey or dark clothing with their hoods up and are believed to have left the scene on foot, some running in the direction of Upper Brook Street and Dial Lane.

Officers are not treating this as a random attack and believe that the parties involved are known to each other.
