A Suffolk-based coffee company has partnered with Suffolk Mind to boost understanding and support of mental health.

It comes after Suffolk police announced plans to scale back its response to mental health calls - and said other organisations must make plans to cover the gaps.

'Combat 2 Coffee' was initially established in order to provide veterans with a space to talk about their mental health.

Nigel Seaman, who founded the company, told us that the partnership will provide training from Suffolk Mind to staff members and volunteers so that they feel confident and have the tools to approach people looking for help.

Jon Neal, CEO of Suffolk Mind, said: “We are committed to making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health, and partnerships like this will help us do that.

“Combat2Coffee have created a great support network for veterans and their families, and by working together we will be able to extend this further.

“When we all work together and support each other, great things can happen.”

Nigel told us he believes this partnership will allow them to extend our support to everyone who walks through their doors:

“Mental health issues can affect anyone, whether it’s directly or indirectly, and having the ability to talk about it can make a real difference.

“By working with Suffolk Mind we will be able to continue changing the world one sip at a time.”
