A man has died in a crash on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at 7.20am this morning, (8 November), to reports of a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian on the eastbound carriageway between Bury St Edmunds and Rougham.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were also in attendance, but the pedestrian – a man aged in his 70s – sadly died at the scene.

The eastbound carriageway was completely closed whilst a collision investigation took place, reopening at around 3pm.

Any witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: CAD 45 of 8 November.
