Police are looking for witnesses after a burglary in Lowestoft during which a pouch containing a baby's ashes was stolen.

A property was broken into on Normanston Drive between 3:45pm and 5:20pm on February 3rd.

At least one person got into the home by smashing a rear patio door. They took valuables including jewellery.

Officers are now searching for a distinctive purple draw string pouch which contained the ashes of the victim's deceased child.

It's thought the neighbour's dogs heard the break in, as they started barking at around 5pm.

Suffolk Police are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to get in touch.
