Man arrested after arson attack on Ipswich bungalow

A 47 year old man is being questioned after flames broke out earlier this morning

A man has been arrested after a house fire in Ipswich in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to Ashcroft Road at appoximately 2:45am. A bungalow and neighbouring garage were alight.

Fire crews say there was 'significant damage' to the property. Nobody was hurt in the blaze.

A 47 year old man is being questioned on suspicion of criminal damage, arson endangering life and being behind the wheel above the drink-drive limit.

He remains at Martlesham Police Station.
