Ipswich Town's Cameron Burgess facing time out after suffering facial fractures
He was taken off during Tuesday's 2 - 0 win over Bristol Rovers
Ipswich Town defender Cameron Burgess is facing time out after suffered a serious injury during Tuesday night's home win against Bristol Rovers.
He was taken off the field in the 62nd minute and it's now emerged he's fractured a number of bones in his face.
He will have to undergo surgery before he can return to the pitch for Town.
Speaking to the ITFC website, manager Kieran McKenna said: "He has been to hospital and seen some specialists."
"He has a few fractures in his upper facial area.
"There is a lot of swelling so that needs to come down and then he will hopefully have surgery next week.
"It’s a shame for him on a personal level because he was possibly playing the best football of his career, but he will come back strong.
"In his absence, though, lads will step up and do their bit."
