Building work is due to start today at Ipswich Hospital to pave the way for a new temporary Urgent Treatment Centre, due to open this year.

From Monday 18th January the corridor from the south main entrance will be shut so work can be carried out to the ceilings, floors and mechanical and electrical services in the area, previously occupied by WH Smith, Costa and Stock shop.

The Trust is asking staff, patients and visitors to find alternative routes until work is completed in two weeks time.

It's just one of many big building projects taking place with millions being invested in upgrading patient environments.
