A man's been arrested following a house fire in Ipswich.
Officers were called by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service at just before 5.20am this morning, Tuesday 13 August, to reports of a fire at a premises in Portman Road.
Six people were in the property at the time and managed to escape.
Four are uninjured, but two people – a man and a woman - are being treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and treatment to leg fractures after jumping from an upstairs window.
A further 11 residents have been evacuated from neighbouring properties and arrangements are being made by Ipswich Borough Council to accommodate them in a refuge centre until it is safe for them to return to their homes.
Police tell us they're treating the attack as suspicious, and believe it was a localised and targeted attack.
A 24-year-old man from Felixstowe was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Officers would like to hear from any witnesses, or those who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area before the fire.
