A headstone has been placed to mark the grave of an unidentified newborn girl who was found dead at a recycling centre in Needham Market two years ago.

Known only as 'Baby S', the day old child was discovered at the Sackers site in May 2020 - she was buried at Millennium Cemetery in Ipswich earlier this year.

A teddy bear shaped gravestone has now been placed on the site to remember the little girl.

In a post on Facebook, Sackers wrote: "The terrible news of finding Baby S on May 14 2020 at our recycling site, reached thousands of people all over the world and has touched many of our followers since we first found her. "

"In February this year, as the news reported, we were finally able to give her the proper funeral she deserved.

"After months of letting her burial ground settle, her teddy bear headstone has now been placed so she never gets forgotten.

"For those who her story has touched their lives, can now go and pay their respects.

"It’s lovely to see that she has already had lots of visitors."

Police are still trying to identify the parents of Baby S.

It's believed she was born full term and a coroner found no evidence of underlying health issues.
