Man taken to hospital with burns after Haverhill fire
It broke out in a kitchen overnight
A man's being treated in hospital for burns and smoke inhalation after a fire in Haverhill.
It broke out in the kitchen of a semi-detached bungalow in Beaufort Court at 12:09am this morning (Friday 22nd November).
A neighbour raised the alarm after spotting smoke and flames coming from the property.
Firefighters from Haverhill and Cambridgeshire rescued the man living in the home, who was then taken to hospital.
They also saved his pet dog.
It took them around two hours to put out the blaze.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is due to take place today.
