Views sought on GP practice’s plans to move to purpose built facility in Sudbury
Patient feedback is wanted
Patients across Sudbury and surrounding villages are being asked for their views on a proposal to consolidate services provided at Great Cornard, Meadows Lane and Stour Street practices into a new purpose-built GP hub in Sudbury town centre.
The Hardwicke House Practice Group, which runs services in the town, has started an engagement exercise to seek views on the proposal.
The proposal includes relocating services into a purpose-built facility at the proposed site, currently used as a lorry park, adjacent to Waitrose supermarket.
Dr Jamie Gilmour, a partner at Hardwicke House Group, said:
“The three buildings where we currently provide services from are no longer fit for purpose and in need of upgrade.
“We want to find out from local people how this proposal would impact them and if they believe the site is suitable for their needs as well as to share more detail about our ideas.
“We believe the proposed location is well served by public transport and accessible to the communities we currently serve.
“It would also allow us to review the way we currently provide our services.
“If the plans did progress, it would mean more clinicians would be on site making it safer and there would be additional car parking available to our patients.
“There is also local transport links nearby including the bus and train stations.”
The practice has invited patients to provide feedback on its proposal through its website where visitors can give their feedback through an online survey.
