George and Olivia are most popular baby names in the East of England

If there's one thing in life you have to be certain on, it's the name you decide to give your child. After all, it is the name they are going to go by for the rest of their lives!

After the top baby names predicted for 2022 were unveiled at the start of the year, figures have now been released for the most popular names from the whole of last year.

Olivia, which has topped the charts for the last seven years, continues to be the leading choice for a girls name in the East of England.

478 newborn girls were named Olivia in 2021, with Amelia, Isla, Freya and Ava making up the rest of the top five.

The most common boys name in the East of England in 2021 was George - closely followed by Noah, Oliver, Arthur and Leo.
