As fans of Tom Grennan will know, he's just released his third album 'What Ifs & Maybes', and it's now reached the top spot, making it his second Number 1 album in the UK. Along with music, he and his dad Martin have also been enjoying a bit of spotlight on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Joining Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East, James Barr and Producer Matt on Monday (26th June), Tom told them what it was like to be on the popular show with his dad, and how his dad was enjoying a bit of fame.

"They throw anything at ya," Tom said, when asked if they could choose the shows they watch. "And my dad, for people who don't know, he's an Irishman, a very funny one, and he's loving it. He's stepped into this fame, and he loves every second of it. He's on Instagram now, he's doing little interviews on Instagram.

"I've got to read this out actually, because it's the best thing I've seen. This is my dad's Instagram, a message from a lady. 'Hello Martin, I'd just like to make you aware that I'm literally obsessed with you, NOT TOM, but you! You are the fittest man I've seen in the whole wide world, and I'll do anything to have a picture with you! Can I have a poster of you on my bedroom wall? Love and appreciation.'"

Tom admitted he didn't think his dad had replied to that message, but his mum did comment, it would be better if you got your teeth done!

What is the inspiration for Tom's album?

Tom's album 'What Ifs & Maybes' is out now and features several of his recent songs including, 'Here', 'How Does It Feel', and 'Remind Me'. He told us about the album and what it meant to him.

"What Ifs & Maybes' is for me a spontaneous title," Tom explained. "It's what if you don't put yourself in places, then maybe that thing won't happen, so reverse it... Go and do that, because you never know what's behind the door.

"You never know where you're going to be in life, and the whole album is looking forward to the future. There's a lot of colour in there, it's vibrant, it's just exciting and that's what I want people to really, really feel and have. This album is a belief you can honestly do what you want to do and if you really put hard work into it."

It hit me hard watching him comprehend what had happened, trying to compute the madness and sadness of his new world now that his mum whom he loved so dearly had passed.
"It triggered memories for me of the loss of my cousin and best friend Alan when I was just a teenager, it broke so many of us. The song unravelled from me quite quickly. It was cathartic on many levels, thoughts of loss and heartbreak, dealing with the grief of death, or the breakdown of a relationship or friendship.
"These are all things that seem to have dominated my life in recent years, but sadly never get any easier to navigate. I'm grateful that the passing of time allows us to look back and remember the good times."
