Kygo x Cilla Black gets a blessing from the 'Surprise Surprise' songwriter 🙌

As you'll probably know by now, Norwegian DJ Kygo has been remixing classic songs such as Whitney Houston's 'Higher Love', Tina Turner's 'What's Love Got to Do with It', and most recently Donna Summer's 1979 hit 'Hot Stuff'.
So, when Hits Radio's Producer Matt saw a meme with Kygo and Cilla Black, he thought it was real. Unbelievably, Matt even went so far as to WhatsApp our head of music Toby, to ask him about the new song! To which he got this as a response. '😂'
In an effort to make the song a reality for Matt, James used his mixing skills to create a Kygo version of Cilla's 'Surprise Surprise'! Have a listen to the outcome below.
Today (22nd September), Kate Robbins who was the songwriter behind the original song, joined us on Hits Radio saying that she thought the new version of the song was brilliant.
"It's been a good little song for me over the years," Kate told the Breakfast team, going on to say how much she loved James' remix.
When asked what she thought of the remix, Kate admitted she actually thought it was Kygo! Her daughter (who just happens to be I'm a Celeb star Emily Atack), heard the song and told her about it saying, "Mum, Kygo's remixed it!"
After finding out it was just a meme, Kate took to Twitter saying she'd buy everyone on Twitter drinks if it's released.
Will Kygo remix it? We certainly hope so!

SZA and Justin Timberlake released 'The Other Side' which was featured on the soundtrack for Trolls World Tour. The film had limited release due to the Coronavirus outbreak and instead was released on Blu-ray and DVD in June 2020.

BRIT Award-winner Mabel teamed up with Clean Bandit, who are well-known for their collaborations with other artists! They recorded 'Tick Tock' with rapper 24kGoldn before the pandemic, and filmed a socially distanced music video just ahead of the song's release in August 2020.
Calvin Harris and The Weeknd 'Over Now'
Calvin Harris and The Weeknd released their collab 'Over Now' on 28th August. The music video is a CGI animated video featuring a disco ball-style recreation of The Weeknd in various futuristic locations.
Dua Lipa - 'Club Future Nostalgia'
Dua released 'Club Future Nostalgia' in August 2020 - a remixed version of her second album 'Future Nostalgia', released in March 2020. The new album featured the likes of Madonna, Missy Elliott, Mark Ronson, Gwen Stefani and Blackpink.
