Alesha Dixon opens up about the act that made her 'ugly cry' on Britain's Got Talent 😮
Oh Alesha! 😢
Singer and Britain's Got Talent judge, Alesha Dixon joined Angellica, James and Matt on Hits Radio Breakfast to talk about the upcoming series of the popular talent show. She also opened up about how she had to try and compose herself after seeing one act in particular, and if there could be a Mis-Teeq reunion. 👀
Alesha, who has been a judge on Britain's Got Talent since 2012, will be appearing in the next series, due to start on Saturday, and opened up about her Golden Buzzer act, admitting that she just got too emotional when she saw them.
"My Golden Buzzer act floored me this year," she explained. "I often sit there and, you know, nobody wants to ugly cry on television, but I did have one of those moments because I just couldn't hold back.
"I always think if you've got that opportunity to give someone that special moment and so they can spread the message of what they're doing on a bigger scale that feels like a really great reason to give someone a golden buzzer. So I'm really excited for you to see that."
However, Alesha also revealed that since Bruno Tonioli joined the show last year, the Golden Buzzer rule is a distance memory, admitting: "(There are) more Golden Buzzers than ever! Since Bruno joined the rules have gone out of the window. I think there might be eight or nine this series! In fact, this year Bruno broke the Golden Buzzer on day one of filming!"
In the upcoming series of Britain's Got Talent, presented by the ever-popular Ant and Dec, Alesha also revealed that one of her solo songs, 'The Boy Does Nothing' was covered, but she wasn't impressed by the performance, saying: "You know, we had somebody perform on Britain's got Talent this year that did their own version (of the song) and I hated it. No gold buzzers, because they did it in, like, a heavy metal, really aggressive. And I was like, no, make it stop."
Chatting to Angellica and the team, Alesha, who started out in the girl group Mis-Teeq, also addressed the idea of the 00s girl group reforming, but she revealed that: "Sometimes you have to leave things where they are."
She went on to say: "We love the fact that people ask for it, but we've been nervous of it in the past. But I do get enjoyment seeing other acts come back together. Whether it's Damage or Sugababes. I always say never say never. But in true honesty, it's not a priority for us right now."
