The family of a man who died after a collision in Rugeley have paid tribute to him.

Police were called at 7.35am on Thursday 5 December to reports of a collision involving a blue Yamaha motorcycle and a blue VW Transporter on the A460 at the junction of Stile Cop Road.

Sadly, the motorcyclist, Gaz Lavender, 43, died at the scene.

His family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.

In a tribute, Gaz’s family said: “Gaz was a kind gentle giant, full of life. He was incredibly funny and loved by all who knew him. His passion for music and motorbikes is unmatched. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.”

Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators.
