Akhtar Gul Rhamani was sentenced to three-years-and-two-months’
Police in Stoke have confirmed a man has been jailed after he pleaded guilty to child sexual offences.
Akhtar Gul Rhamani, 52, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, was sentenced to three-years-and-two-months’ imprisonment at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday (10 June) after he pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a boy at an earlier hearing.
Rhamani was arrested in October 2023 after the crime was reported.
As part of his sentencing, he was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and put on the Sex Offenders Register.
Detective Chief Inspector Shelley Burns said: “I would like to praise the bravery of the survivor in coming forward and telling a trusted adult what had happened to them.
“We are committed to addressing all forms of abuse against children and strongl encourage anyone who suspects that a child is being sexually abused, or has been a victim themselves, to come forward.”
