The new owners of Stoke's Royal Stafford pottery say they they're going to bring the site back to its former glory.

The 200-year-old firm went bust in February 2025, leaving dozens of workers out of a job.

However former customer TG Green has stepped in and bought it, saving 17 staff.

The company, famous for its Cornishware, says they're going to completely turn the Stoke business around and make it fit for the future.

"We're up and running and it's going well, we've already had our first order." said Charles Rickards, Managing Director there, and new boss at Royal Stafford.

"Around 70% of our business goes directly to consumers via our website, not just the wholesale side but the consumer side too - and that's what makes our business model work.

"30% of our business goes to trade customers, the likes of Harrods and Liberty and Vogue and lots of top end retailers.

"This country has always done well through innovation and coming up with new ideas. It should be proud of what it's done and thinking how we can make better more superior products, and be prepared to sell them for a superior price and not just a race to the bottom."
