Port Vale promoted to League One
They've secured automatic promotion with a game to spare
Port Vale have secured promotion back to League One after a 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon this afternoon.
Vale's victory - combined with Doncaster's win over Braford means Darren Moore's side are back in the third tier of English football, with one game of the season left to go.
We've been speaking with lifelong fan Robert Peddie who says;
"There is no doubt that promotion back to league one will mean a lot to the fans and everyone in the community.
"The amount that the Shanahan's have done for this club, they have made it very clear that their heart is set on doing the best for the community and those around the club instead of just doing what's best for them individually.
"So myself and the rest of the Vale support are fully behind them"
When reflecting on Vale's season, Robert said:
"In League 2 you can never take anything for granted.
"Top can play bottom and you can never guarantee what will happen."
It's now set to be a celebration at the last game of the season, which is a home match against Gillingham next week.
