Murder arrest after woman found dead in Stafford

A man is being questioned by police after a woman was found dead in Stafford.
Police made the discovery after being called to a property on Newport Road on Monday morning. They haven't confirmed how she died.
A 44-year-old man, from the area, was arrested and is now being questioned on suspicion of murder.
In an update, the force said: "We were called at 10.25am yesterday morning (Monday 29 July) to reports that a woman had died at a property on Newport Road.
"A 44-year-old man, from Stafford, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody.
"Detectives have been granted extra time to interview the suspect."
