A man who stabbed the passenger of a car in a vicious attack in Staffordshire has been jailed.
Jason Perks, aged 32, of Biddulph, was looking for the victim because he owed him £20.
Perks met with the victim in Biddulph, who was sat in the passenger seat of a car, to exchange the debt on the same day. Perks then launched his attack, punching him in the head and stabbing him with a craft knife in the leg and arm.
The victim didn't sustain any serious injuries
Perks was arrested and questioned about what happened in custody. He was charged and sent to court.
On 8 March at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Perks was sentenced to 18-months behind bars after previously admitting wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
PC Matthew Hodgson, from CID North, said: “Perks launched a vicious attack on the victim and could’ve caused fatal injuries if he wasn’t apprehended.
“We want to be clear that violence of any kind will not be tolerated in Staffordshire. We will pursue those responsible and seek the toughest punishment possible in court.”
